Let's be the fool

Happy April Fool's Day! Here's something I gleaned from Wikipedia this morning "The Fool is the spirit in search of experience. He represents the mystical cleverness bereft of reason within us, the childlike ability to tune into the inner workings of the world." So let us venture off into this day with an openness we all can recall from childhood. Be the fool. And now onto our exciting menu for today. My goodness. So, for our soup we have homemade dumplings- pelmeni in a delicious beef broth, also, of course, homemade. So for all those who have been waiting to see pelmeni on our menu, here it is, in soup form. Also, there's this really exciting, super good and nutritious plant in season right now called Nettle (something I only discovered moving to the Pacific Northwest, but is popular in Russian cooking too). We are getting ours from the wonderful Calliope Farm and mixing it with Feta and stuffing them in our puff pastry. So come on by and try some. For the rest of the menu:

Baked Piroshki:
